Bell Media’s Harold Greenberg Fund today announced the funding of 26 film projects as part of its Script Development Program, one new project as part of its Equity Investment Program, and the appointment of a new Board Member, celebrated Canadian filmmaker Richie Mehta. The slate of supported films includes new and already-announced films in all phases of development, from story optioning and first and second drafts, to polish and packaging, final-drafts, and equity investment. Included among the projects are: The Breadwinner, a Canada/Ireland animated adaption of the award-winning novel by Deborah Ellis; Joey Klein’s The Other Half starring Tatiana Maslany (Orphan Black); Hey 45 from renowned playwright and Saving Hope creator and executive producer Morwyn Brebner; and When I Loved You, the latest from Canadian Screen Award winner Elan Mastai (What If).
“A new year brings innovative voices, original projects, and fresh faces to The Harold Greenberg Fund,” said John Galway, President, English-Language Program, The Harold Greenberg Fund. “We’re thrilled to welcome Richie Mehta as a board member, and would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to former Chair and outgoing board member Bryn Matthews.”
